A rust red batik print cotton saree with a block print pallu, cut 6.5 metres including blouse fabric. The fine cracked lines running across the rust body are the signature of batik — wax is applied by hand before dyeing, and the dye seeps into every crack it leaves behind, so no two sarees crack the same way.
Solid black borders frame the body. The pallu and border panels turn off-white and fill with block printed motifs in red and black — octagons, triangles and small floral butis.
It is the kind of cotton saree that reads as a statement without any shine or zari. Rust is warm enough for daytime and deep enough to hold its own at an evening event.

Where to wear it
Office days, exhibitions and craft events, daytime functions and casual get-togethers.
How to style it
Oxidised silver — a chunky choker, stacked bangles and a statement ring — is the natural match for a print this graphic. A black or off-white blouse both work.
Caring for it
Hand wash only. Wash it separately the first time, dry in shade and iron on the reverse side to protect the print.
Please note: slight colour variation from the images is possible due to camera settings and lighting. Returns and exchanges are not accepted on this ground.
Frequently asked questions
What is batik printing?
Batik is a wax-resist dyeing craft. Molten wax is applied to the fabric by hand, the fabric is dyed, and the waxed areas resist the colour. As the wax hardens it cracks, and dye seeps into those cracks — which is why every batik saree carries that fine web of thin lines. This saree is batik printed.
Why does the print look slightly different in places?
That is the nature of batik. The crack pattern is formed by hand-applied wax and is never identical twice, so small variations across the saree are a mark of the craft, not a defect.
What fabric is this saree made of?
Cotton. It is light, breathable and easy to drape, and it is not a silk or a silk blend.
Is the pallu batik or block print?
The pallu and the border panels are block printed in off-white with red and black motifs. The rust body is batik.
Does this saree have zari or embroidery?
No. There is no zari, no embroidery and no embellishment on this saree. The entire design is batik and block print.
Does this saree come with a blouse?
Yes. The 6.5 metre length includes blouse fabric, which you'll need to have stitched to your measurements. A stitched blouse is not included.
What is the length of this saree?
6.5 metres in total, including the blouse fabric.
Can a batik cotton saree be washed at home?
Yes. Hand wash only, separately the first time, dried in shade and ironed on the reverse. Batik colours can release a little dye on the first wash, so keep it away from lighter fabrics.
Is rust red a good colour for office wear?
Yes. Rust is warm and grounded rather than bright, so it stays professional while the black and off-white pallu keeps it interesting.
What jewellery goes with it?
Oxidised silver — a choker, bangles and a statement ring.
How long will delivery take, and is COD available?
Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days and delivered across India in 3–7 business days. Prepaid orders ship free. Cash on Delivery is available with a nominal handling charge of ₹59.
Can I return or exchange this saree?
You must raise a return or exchange within 48 hours of delivery. Returns are accepted for damaged or defective products, with images shared. You can also exchange the saree if it isn't right for you, as long as it's unused, with tags, packaging and invoice intact. Slight colour variation due to screen and lighting isn't grounds for a return.
